It was a new location for ProScout, the first time for a full Agent Invitational outside Atlanta for the South Central US region.  Welcome to Charlotte; agents got an eyeful of Southern gents, ladies, and well, characters.

I am writing this comment for the people who have or are considering attending a ProScout event but maybe are skeptical that it could possibly be a “scam”. First and foremost ProScout is not a scam. You can find blogs written that “it’s a scam” or “you shouldn’t have to pay money”. If you have been to an open-call and was accepted then you should not hesitate to find a way to attend an event. There, you will see why you are asked to pay money and after the event is over you realize the amount you paid was nothing compared to the experience you will have. Are you asking “do you really meet top agents?”..you bet..yes..absolutely !! The best of the best..all there for you to expose your talent to. The workshops (optional) are extraordinary and help you to prepare for the big day. If you think you are too young or too old..think again..agents are looking for all ages. The staff at ProScout are so friendly and they go above and beyond while you are at an event to assist you and even prior to and after an event for any questions you might have. Everyone at ProScout is wonderful and so helpful. Yes I know all this from experience. My daughter and I just attended the Charlotte event and it was one of the best weekends ever !! We didn’t want it to end ! And yes she received 2 call-backs. But even if she had not received a call-back though the experience and exposure you get and all the people attending you meet would have been worth the time and money !! Thank you ProScout for everything and will see you again in the future !!! Thanks to Jen, Marwan, Kenny, Danielle, Mel, Didi and all the staff for all you help !!!

First, let me say that as a parent, I was somewhat skeptical about ProScout. However, even at the initial meeting, they were very honest about what they were all about……to put you in front of the industry’s top agents, period. The rest is up to you. Well, this past weekend in Charlotte, they delivered that and then some. The agencies and managers that attended the event were all tops in the industry. The staff was amazing, helpful, supportive and welcoming. While yes, there were a few workshops that you could go to for an additional $25 fee, they were optional. The speakers on Saturday were very informative and the ProScout staff walked you through everything that was going to happen the next day in front of the agents and if you listened, gave very helpful suggestions to help you put your best foot forward. The events host Didiayer was just fantastic with both the children and adults and gave valuable instruction (again, if you listened) and seemed very genuine.

While all of the ProScout staff were great, one in particular stood out for us. We met an exceptional young man named Kenny, He began his modeling career by going to ProScout and he has been beyond helpful to my daughter. He has been so patient while answering my endless of questions. A thank you hardly seems adequate!

My daughter Allison was fortunate to get several call backs and we are flying out to New York right after finals! I don’t know what the future holds for my daughter in this industry or how far she will go, but no matter what, she is so grateful to have been given this opportunity of a lifetime and will have no regrets either way. Thank you ProScout. We’ll keep you posted.

This was our second time to pro scout and again my daugter was not given any call backs. We knew what to expect but was dissapointed this time. Didi, Chambers, Brian, Jen all seemed tired, they acted like they didn’t enjoy doing what they doing, they sounded ARROGANT. I wasn’t impressed at all.

I love the fact that Pro Scout brings the agents to Dallas and I liked the way that critiqued the monologes however I felt that they were a bit to harsh on the way they critiqued. This industry makes NORMAL people feel INFERIOR. Were all human and we all have feelings NO ONE is perfect NO MATTER HOW PRETTY YOU AE. Just because your pretty on the outside doesn’t mean your pretty on the inside.

I understand they aren’t looking at WHO you are from the inside, they don’t care about that, thats why you see people in hollywood that become famous then they end up in prison. Its a dog eat dog world people and were beating ourselfs to death and NO ONE CARES.

At 40, I was just investigating the possibility of expanding my options in life in a field I have always been intrigued by. I came to ProScout and got one call back from the very last agent who is going to sign with me.

Overall, I had a blast at the ProScout event. I had a lot of people discouraging me from going and telling me it was a scam. But I consider myself a pretty scholastic girl having advanced degrees from 3 prestigous schools. I found it to be informative and well worth my time and financial investment. You could go many other ways but I am thankful to Erik for giving me a shot and I look forward to working with my new agency.

We didnt get any call backs but we had a wonderful time. ProScout representitives were very professional. They were great with the contestants. No matter what age they were able to adjust to all personalities. Ms.Didiayers is adorable. She is a people person they could not have gotten a better host. She was Great…The crew was great. Thanks for a wonderful time. Byron had a ball.

I got call backs!!!!!!with Victor’s international!!!!

I am very glad that my daughter (5 yrs. old) had the experience from that weekend!! She did not get a final call back on Sunday but I think she learned alot. We had a great time. The only thing that bothered me was that I wanted more “children agents”(especially for acting). It seemed most call backs were for age 15 years and up. I hope you all do better with that in the future. We still had a great experience without a call back. Thank you!

I just want to start by saying if you’ve been to an open-call and you were selected by ProScout to attend a ProScout Event then you need to follow thru with it! My son and I attended a ProScout Event in Charlotte, NC on May 2nd and 3rd. We had a ball! The staff is great and the event was so professional but yet enjoyable and great fun.

My son received 3 call backs and we are headed to NEW YORK! It’s real and believe me when I say we were hesitant about going thinking it was another scam, but from a Moms point of view, ProScout is the only way to go. Worth the money!

My son was chosen to go to a Proscout Event in New Orleans, but I have a question. After you are chosen at the call backs and are asked to come to New York are you expenses paid by the company or by self?

By brian on May 15th, 2009 at 11:15 am

I can happen both ways; sometimes the agency will front travel costs, sometimes not – depends on degree of agency confidence in the person and expected results.

I am getting ready to attend Proscout at the Orlando convention in May! I can’t wait. Congratulations to everyone that got signed, And good luck to everyone that did not. Don’t give up the opportunity to pursue your dreams again and again. Just because you don’t get signed the first, or even second time that doesn’t mean your not meant for this life style. I know I won’t let anyone hold me back! God bless, One love.

We attended Proscout Charlotte. IT WAS AWESOME!! My daughter 10 years old got 2 callbacks and we were thrilled. For those single moms out there afraid to do this because of the money, don’t be. Just do it. We had to do fund raisers to get our money together and am I glad we did. Now the fun stuff. We are going back to Charlotte for her comp card pictures next week. She is so excited about this opportunity she has been given.
THANK YOU PROSCOUT!!!!!

I can’t quit articulate my gratitude to ProScout, especially for Erik Lingvall and Mel McFarlane at the Charlotte event. Our experience was priceless and extremely rewarding. The speakers were enthusiastic and the wealth of information I received was incredible. All of those agents under one roof!! What more can one ask for??
My 6 year old son, Reno, got “F O U R” callbacks!!! We are anxiously waiting to hear from them.
Thank You ProScout!

We had a blast at Proscout in Charlotte. I didn’t think the agents would really be there, but I was wrong. To anyone that is thinking about getting into this industry, Proscout is the way to go. The speakers were great, the workshops were great and the atmosphere was amazing. When all the agents were introduced and entered the ballroom, I was floored. Way to go Proscout. Our 10 year old daughter did get a callback and we are extremely excited and proud of her. Good luck to everyone as they take this journey.

Got a contract BMG!

By Jackie Everett on June 3rd, 2009 at 4:12 pm

Update. My daughter, Allison, has a contract with JJ Cortez (Management First) and Wilhelmina New York. ProScout really did deliver. My best advice is to do your homework on the field in which you/your child are interested, be honest with yourself, and be prepared when you come to an event. ProScout really does brings the “players” to their events, but it’s up to you to seal the deal. Good luck to all!

By josalyn on October 15th, 2009 at 9:22 pm

Hey i got the convention in dallas in two weeks, and i was wondering by being 25 yrs old, 5′7, 113lbs is there a high chance for me to get a lot of callbacks. Do they have petite modeling agents at the event? Do i have to do a monologue?

By Proud Father Taylor Miller on November 28th, 2009 at 11:37 pm

Taylor got one call back with VI and has signed, from her first event, at 11 yeras old. She meet Amanda Ferris at Proscout in Charlotte, and hit iit off. We’d like to contact her if possible, cause she got two call agent backs and we want to see what happened.
