Meet Morgan (snapshot confessional)

By brian • on March 24, 2009

Meet Morgan Guyton, the next big thing from small town Alabama. This vivacious 15 year old says she’s “never met a stranger”, and hopes to begin modeling in NYC by June this year.

Morgan Guyton, ProScout

Morgan first met ProScout at an recent open call interview session; she attended her first agent conference in New Orleans in January ‘09.  The results were memorable, Morgan snagged 16 agency callbacks, all major names:  Elite, Ford, Wilhelmina, Next, New York Models, Nomad Mgmt, Click NY, Management First, Page Parkes Management, MC2 Miami, Runways Talent Group, BMG, Revolution Mgmt., R&L NYC, Della Republica, and Slamm Atlanta.

We caught up with Morgan on the phone as she made her plans to conquer the world of fashion this summer.

ProScout:  You’re a self-confessed small town girl.  What is it like back home?
Morgan:  Living in a small town can be boring at times, but I always find new and fun things to do. I love having fun with my friends; I am spontaneous, extremely happy, I love to laugh and I’m always smiling.  I rarely ever meet a stranger, and I love being loud but I’m quiet when I have to be.

ProScout:  What are you loving and hating about life right now?
Morgan:  Loving? I’m 15 and I don’t have much to worry about yet.  What I hate about life at the moment is not being able to drive where I want to go without asking someone to carry me, but I only have till June and lookout baby here I come!!!!  But don’t worry, I’ll be careful!

ProScout: Describe the personality and qualities that help set you apart.
Morgan:  My personality is my own, and my height is interesting, that is, when it doesn’t intimidate people! Shoot, not every girl can be 5′11 and I love it.

Life is good. Morgan had 16 agent callbacks in New Orleans; she's going to ProScout Dallas in May to help make her final decision.

ProScout: What do you do when no ones looking?
Morgan:  I love to dance around my room and sing as loud as I want, and believe me its a sight to see. Can you picture that?

ProScout:  What guys do you like, what turns you off?
Morgan:I love guys who are funny and can make me smile. But if he’s hot, thats a bonus point.  I pretty much  hate guys that lie and cheat, if you can’t trust them who needs them, right?

ProScout:OK, you got 16 major agencies knocking on your door the first time at ProScout.  What would you most like to do?
Morgan:  I’d love magazines, to do commercials, runway modeling, it all sounds so exciting to me.  My dream would be to somehow make a mark, to someday be known by the world, to be unforgettable. Gawd, that sounds so self-serving, i didn’t mean it like that. What I want to do is take each step one at a time, see where and how I can grow with this.  I just don’t want to be mediocre, life is too short.

ProScout:  This summer you turn 16 in June.  What have you got planned?
Morgan:  Well, I still have agents calling me each week from ProScout New Orleans, but I’ve decided before I sign with anyone, I’m going to go back one more time, and do ProScout in Dallas this May.  My confidence is up, my fear has faded away, I think one more go ’round with the agents will help me decide who to sign with. I had sooooo much fun at the event in New Orleans, I met so many people and agents.  I would never get that chance back in Alabama. I was a little nervous and overwhelmed the last time I interviewed with them, so I want to go back, show them the real ME this time so when they leave they’re begging Morgan Guyton with them!  No guts, no glory… right?

ProScout:  Well, things look good for you. What it things don’t work out as planned?
Morgan:  I think I would like to be a lawyer.  But I’d rather be leveraging my own assets, not litigating someone else’s case. That’s cute… print it!!

Morgan Guyton: Make her laugh, boys, maybe you'll have an in. Liars an cheaters need not apply.

ProScout: OK… one last question. What was your most embarrassing moment?
Morgan:  OMG.. it was at a football game one Friday night.  I’m on our school dance-line, it was halftime.  We have taps on our boots and we dance on wooden boxes about a foot off the ground.  It had been raining that day and the grass was wet, therefore, so were our boots.  You guessed it – my feet flew out from under me, legs all in the air and I fell on the ground in front of the whole crowd.  I got up, jumped back on the box and kept right on dancing like nothing had happened!  It made a great video and it’s funny now but I could have crawled under the box that night.  Hope that never happens in a fashion show…

WHAT DO YOU THINK?  Leave comments below for Morgan…  we love her here!

Morgan, I am so proud of you girl. I have always known that you would make a great model. I knew that way back when you used to sit on my desk and visit with me at work. I am so glad that you still have that bubbly personality and have not changed. You have always been so full of life, loved to have fun and did not care what anyone else thought and that is awsome. Good luck and don’t forget us in Alabama when you become famous. I love you! Sonya Overstreet
