Kids drive “Scientastic”; new reality show
(Pittsburgh) Our L.A. sources inform us that young ProScout discovery Lili Reinhart is starring in a new citically applauded “reality show”; created by Duquesne University professor John Pollock (directed by Leo Eaton).
“Scientastic!” borrows creatively from other TV show idealogy, including “iCarly” and a hint of “Glee” as it tells the story of “real people”; i.e. 12-year-old Leah (Lili Reinhart), who records a webcast about broken bones after her best friend, Habiba (Habiba Hopson), is injured playing soccer. Leah is determined to learn (and teach others) about how bones heal as Habiba recuperates before “the big game.”
Leah is accompanied in her quest by her little brother, Axel (Joe Serafini), who imagines dancers who help teach about bones whenever the show dips into Axel’s imagination.
Says (Director) Pollock, “It’s a television show aimed at children and families with the goal of showing how fun and accessible science is,” he says. “We’re using a live-action show, so there are real kids taking on the roles. They’re actually interviewing real scientists and experts each week.”
L.A. acting coach Chambers Stevens tipped us off about her project; seems Lili is just one of his numerous success stories. Other clients of his include Jae Head (Blind Side), Hayley Holmes (Glee, Lie to Me, Good Luck Charlie), and Bridger Zadina (Disney Movie Surfers.
Way to go Lili!
