Disney boots up “Tron” with stars Olivia Wilde & Garrett Hedlund
Disney bets the farm on “Tron Legacy”, due out December 2010. Movie trailers are wowing audiences in 3-D & IMAX, looks to be the Avatar of techno later this year. ProScout discovery Garrett Hedlund (originally from Phoenix) stars as the lead – his role seems destined to make him a major film star. Olivia Wilde sizzles with a sex appeal that rivals Megan Fox, and Jeff Bridges basks in a Best Actor Oscar for “Crazy Heart”. Checkmate.
Hedlund’s character in Tron recalls the feel of Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins. Not important, but interesting in the scope of creating a modern day hero with layered intrugue. The shooting has been physical, with
Hedlund saying “I’ve had a lot of chiropractic readjustments. But to the point where I had, you know,
both shoulders out and three ribs out, like both hips.” It will be an action packed film.
So, the film continues to wow moviegoers and the trailers ooze cutting-edge-techo-3-D cool. From the
visuals to the Daft Punk music, it will be a sight to behold. Oh, did we mention Olivia Wilde? For a techo geek-gasm, you gotta have the babes. This film does not disappoint.
Tron Legacy zooms into theaters December 17, 2010.
More on the Tron cast (yes, including Oliva Wilde) coming soon. Stay tuned.
